I Scream You Scream We All Scream for Sunscreen!

This has to be the MOST IMPORTANT step in your skincare regimen! If you aren't already using it, TODAY is the right time to start! Don't fart around, no one wants to have pre-mature aging, hyperpigmentation, not to mention increasing you risk of skin cancer.

☀️Most people are so confused as to what the SPF truly means when it comes to the numbers and UVA/UVB Rays......Here you go, SPF is the acronym for Sun Protection Factor! This is how we measure protection from UVB rays. So what does SPF 15, 30, 50  mean?

  • SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB Rays
  • SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB Rays
  • SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB Rays

Going above 30-50 is really not needed as you can clearly see the 1% difference. So don't stress out that you need over 50!

What's this Broad Spectrum mean you ask? Well simply put it protects from BOTH UVB/UVA rays. And now the question of the hour, what is the diff between those rays.? I want you to think of UVB(urning) and UVA(aging). Both can cause burning & aging so please don't forget that! UVA rays tend to be the main culprit for fine lines and dark spots aka hyperpigmentation. UVB is the biggest culprit in skin cancer and burns.

👉So get on it and add this step everyday of the year to your skincare regimen.

SPF needs to be reapplied every 2 hrs and more frequently if sweating or swimming. Slap it on 30 min before going out! Even better add a hat when outdoors;)

FYI ....Just because your daycream or makeup has SPF adding sunscreen ontop doesn't double the SPF or allow you a longer window.

My fav sunscreen is Image Skincare Tinted SPF 30 for winter/fall months and then I switch it over to a 50 during the summer along with my fav hat😎
